Counseling:
CareNet peer counselors are trained in crisis intervention and basic counseling skills. Peer counseling is not intended to be a substitute for professional counseling. CareNet offers information, emotional and spiritual support, and practical help.

CareNet Pregnancy Services of DuPage is a limited medical clinic. CareNet peer counselors are not licensed medical professionals. Information provided is not a substitute for professional medical care. In the event of a medical emergency, go to an emergency room or call 911.

Confidentiality:
Conversations between a peer counselor and client are confidential. However, by law, CareNet peer counselors must report the following situations: physical abuse of a minor, sexual abuse of a minor, and expressed threat of homicide or suicide by the client. If a client shares information which is required to be reported, confidentiality will be broken accordingly.

Privacy:
By using the CareNet live chat system, the user agrees not to hold CareNet Services or its affiliates or employees liable for any breach of privacy or confidentiality due to circumstances over which CareNet has no control, including but not limited to the activity of internet criminals or attacks, even if CareNet has foreknowledge of such attacks.
